Ryan Fellows Appointed Assistant City Manager

Congratulations to Ryan Fellows for being appointed as Assistant City Manager during the City Council's regular meeting of March 19, 2013. During the meeting, City Manager Geisler stated that the management workload of the City requires two people.  He stated that Mr. Fellows "has demonstrated that he has the ability, character, enthusiasm, ethics and professionalism needed for this position."
Mr. Fellows has over six years of successful experience as New Buffalo's Assistant to the City Manager, preforming well in a wide range of duties, such as: Assistant Zoning Administratorharbor maintenance administration, grant writing, ordinance writing, stormwater project coordination, budgeting, parks and recreation administrative support, internet resources management, public relations, and most recently serving as acting City Clerk.
Mr. Geisler also cited high marks during Mr. Fellows's performance evaluation as part of the reason for the promotion, including advanced analytical skills, excellent technical literacy, high quality problem-solving, and strong inter-personal abilities. Mr. Fellows has a passion for public administration, and a commitment to excellence.
Mr. Fellows has worked for the City of New Buffalo as Assistant to the City Manager since January 22, 2007, and previously gained public administration experience while working for the City Administrator/ City Clerk of Mason and the Ingham County Clerk Election Coordinator.  He has also worked as the data services manager of a political consulting firm in East Lansing.
Mr. Fellows earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Grand Valley State University, Allendale, Michigan.  He is a member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA); and bound by the ICMA Code of Ethics.  Mr. Fellows is originally from Mason, Michigan.
