2018 Events

Below are the council-approved events for the 2018 Season.  Stay tuned for further events.  


New Buffalo Community Halloween Parade

Annual Halloween Parade on Sunday, October 28, 2018 beginning at 2:00pm est with parade step off at approximately 3:00pm est.  Also, door to door Trick or Treat from 3:30pm-5:30pm est.

The parade line up will be in the 100 block of North Thompson Street.  The route will end at the New Buffalo Fire Department on Harrison Street.


 

New Buffalo "Beer in the Buff" Craft Brew Festival

Location:  Lions Park Pavilion
Hours:  12:00 pm-5:00 pm
1st Annual craft beer festival in Lions Park Pavilion.  Craft beer/spirit tastings, food, and live music. 21 and older event, tickets available here

Michigan Shores Mini-5th Running

When:  Sunday, May 6, 2018
Where: Start and end by Lions Pavilion
Time:   7:00 am
A running event to raise money for various charities.

Pure Michigan Spring Jazz & Blues Concert

Memorial Day Parade

When:  Monday, May 28, 2018
Annual tribute to Veterans.  Parade leaves downtown New Buffalo and proceeds along US 12 to the Cemetery where a memorial service is conducted.  Line-up will begin at City Hall at 9:00 am with a brief ceremony and the parade kicking off right after.


 St. Mary's Fest

St. Mary of the Lake Parish Festival

St. Mary of the Lake Parish hosts the Annual St. Mary’s Family Festival on a different weekend for this year only.   A week of raffles, silent auctions, food, midway games, and carnival rides to kick off Summer in New Buffalo!  Fun for all ages and perfect for all families and visitors!

Organized by:  NBBA
When:   Every Thursday night starting May 31st to September 6th.
Location: On Whittaker Street between Merchant and Mechanic.
Hours:  4pm-8pm EST with live music from 6pm-8pm EST

CAT FIGHT VII 2018 Championships

After a 13 year hiatus, the venerable Cat Fight is returning to the Great Lakes. We’re also bringing it to you from a brand-new CRAM location in New Buffalo. CRAM is excited to announce that CRAW (Catamaran Racing Association of Wisconsin) will be joining us this year and hopefully for many years to come.

NBBA Wednesday Car Cruise

Organized by: NBBA
When: 1st Wednesday of each month between June-August from 5-9pm
Location: On 2nd block of North Whittaker Street, both sides, New Buffalo, MI

In downtown New Buffalo with over 40 classic and vintage cars on display.  Free to the public, pet and child friendly.  Car owners: Free to join, no prior sign up needed.

Le Tour de Shore

Organized by: Le Tour de Shore Cycling Club
2-day recreational charity bike ride from Millennium Park, Chicago, IL to the Indiana Dunes, (55 miles); and then, on day 2, to City Beach, New Buffalo, MI (45 miles). Explore dedicated lakefront and dune land, bike paths, and scenic Harbor Country secondary roads.
New Buffalo is a hosting spot for rest, water and food.

Independence Day Celebration

When:  June 29 through July 4th
The week is filled with surf demos, fireworks/symphony (July 3rd), entertainment, family activites and more.  Free to the public, restrooms available.  See NBBA website for more information.
