No one is permitted to hawk or peddle any goods or services unless specifically authorized by resolution of the City Council.
Only non-profit groups may obtain Council approval.
To be considered by the City Council for permission to hawk or peddle the non-profit group must submit their written requests for permission to the City Clerk.
Requests must include:
A. Full name and business address of the organization filing the application.
B. List and general description of the articles to be sold or offered for sale.
C. Proposed methods of conducting the sale, delivering products to buyers, and the length of time for which approval is desired.
D. Specific purpose of the charitable or fund raising activity.
These regulations do not apply to any vendor offering goods as part of any festival approved by the Council, provided said vendor is recognized and approved by the organization conducting and sponsoring the festival.
Lawful regulations concerning hawking and peddling can be found in Chapter 8, "Hawking and Peddling", of the General Ordinances of the City.
A minimum of thirty days is generally needed to consider requests after they are submitted to the City Clerk. The information provided above is only for convenience.
