City Projects

PRIORITY PROJECTS FOR THE CITY
 
In February 2013, the City Council prioritized over eighty City projects into the following Action Plan (as amended after completion of the Water Plant Expansion Project, Dunewalk Re-opening, adding the Sari Asher Memorial Park Drinking Fountain, and other improvements):
 
 1. Encourage Completion of Village Square

 2. Safe Harbor Navigation (Sustainable EH Dredge Fund; Up-river)

 3. Complete Streets Program (S. Smith 2013; S. Whittaker 2014; Downtown)

 4. Master Planning (Finish updating City Master Plan)

 5. Downtown Public Restrooms

 6. Recycling Program (add recycling at Lakefront Park, Oselka Park, etc.)

 7. Snow Removal from Sidewalks

 8. City Hall Re-Roofing

 9. City Riverfront Project (Erosion control, plus Bridge scour countermeasures)

10. Hike and Bike Infrastructure (Hike and Bike Plan; Loop Trail)

11. Oselka Park: Phase 2 (pavilion work, band shell, etc.)

12. Stormwater Quality/ Illicit Discharge Elimination Program

13. Taxi Ordinance Revision

14. Sign Ordinance Revision

15. Repave City Boat Launch Parking Lot/ Gate

16. Repave City Transient Marina Parking Lot

17. Water Safety Class

Other City projects include:

• Marina/ Boat Launch Maintenance (finger piers, repaving, etc.)
• New City Beach House (restrooms, concessions, additional parking)
• Lighthouse Creek Stormwater Management/ Floodwall at Water Plant
