YARD WASTE AND BRUSH COLLECTION PROGRAM

The New Buffalo City Street Department will conduct loose leaf pick-up on April 11, 2011 until April 25, 2011.

Leaves are to be placed by the street but NOT on the pavement.  Do not mix leaves with brush.

Monday, April 18, 2011, bagged leaf pick-up will begin.  Bags will be picked up every Monday until the end of the season.  Use biodegradable bags only.  Bags are available at City Hall, $1.00 each.

Do not put stumps or trash in bags.  Bags will not be picked up if they contain trash, stumps, or weigh more than 25 pounds.

BRUSH REMOVAL

Brush and branch pick-up will begin Monday, April 18, 2011 and will continue every Monday until the end of the season.

Branches should be no larger than 10 feet in length and 4 inches in diameter.  Brush piles should not be larger than 3 feet high, 4 feet wide and 10 feet long.

Brush piles larger than specified will not be picked up.  Stumps WILL NOT be picked up.

Brush and branches are to be placed by the street, but NOT on the pavement.

It is not the intention of this Policy that the City serve as a tree service to dispose of debris from the removal of trees on private property.  Private contractors are responsible for disposal of the brush they generate.

Please contact John Sayne at 269-469-2781 for tree damage due to storms or if you have any questions on the above program.
